Honor Guard wins competition

MANATEE -- The Manatee County Honor Guard attended the Florida Fire Chiefs Association, Fire Rescue East, International Honor Guard Competition in Daytona Beach on Jan. 21.

After competing in four events, the team won first place in division 1 and the team commander, Ronnell Dorsey, won first place in the commander competition.

Established in 2000, the Honor Guard represents Manatee County EMS and area fire departments at parades, sporting events, funerals and other events.
