Fire District Assists with Prescribed Burn
West Manatee's Wildland Fire Team assisted Manatee County's Natural Resources Department in a prescribed burn at Riverview Pointe Preserve. The prescribed burn had been in the works for several years, but recent weather conditions allowed the burn to take place to minimize smoke conditions in neighborhood adjacent to the Preserve.
Multi-agencies participated in the prescribe burn included: Manatee County Natural Resources Department, National Parks Service, Florida Division of Forestry and West Manatee Fire and Rescue District.
